Ramon is an Australian filmmaker based in Naarm (Melbourne), who has built a career across editing, directing & screenwriting - in that stupid order.
As a senior editor, he has crafted work for iconic names including Qantas, Weet-Bix, Monash Uni, Medibank, Powershop and Mastercard, while balancing commercial work with creative projects:
Ramon’s short documentary Dances (2018) explored queer dating-app culture and premiered on ABC iView, earning QueerScreen’s Emerging Queer Filmmaker Award. His first foray into long-form editing, Camino Skies (2019) was nominated for Best Feature Editing at DocEdge and became the year’s No.1 NZ documentary. He re-teamed with the filmmakers for Gloriavale (2022), the story of an epic battle against New Zealand’s most notorious cult. Critics called it “rage inducing”, so if you’re already angry for some other reason, don’t watch it here on Apple TV.
As a screenwriter, Ramon participated in the 2020 In Dreams Fellowship with his pilot Daddies, which explores non-monogamy and parenthood. The script was then selected for Impact Australia 2, leading to representation with HLA Management.
Ramon also enjoys playing piano and lecturing people about Whitney Houston until they won’t look him in the eye. Thus, he is available and equipped for remote work.
